Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty!
As I reflect upon the last few weeks leading up to Easter, I'm reminded of a sweet story in John chapter 20. Mary Magdalene stood outside the tomb weeping, for the stone had been rolled away and she was looking into an empty tomb. Not knowing that Jesus was indeed alive and standing nearby, and thinking it was the gardener speaking to her, Jesus asked her, "Woman, why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" She had been looking for the very man whom was speaking to her.
Mary was instructed to go and tell the disciples the news that Jesus had been raised from the dead and that He was Alive!
When I was reading this passage outloud in Women's Bible Study this past week, I was litterally brought to tears. God chose a woman to be one of the first to see Jesus after His resurrection and was told to go and share the news! I know I've read or heard these stories for years and years, but Golly Gee, I too have seen the Lord.
Also, the kids and I have been reading "Darkest Night/Brightest Day" by Marty Machowski. It is a Family Devotional for the Easter Season, for the last two weeks. Multiple time I've been moved with such emotion acknowledging that God sent His only son to die on the cross for my/our sins that we can be saved. And that He rose from the dead...conquring death on our behalf.
I know that the song "Sunday's Coming" by Phil Wickham has played a major roll in how I now see the events of the cross and tomb with new eyes. It has become so much more personal.
I beg you to check out the links above to the Devotional, and Song. Trust the Lord, and Believe! He has come to seek and save the lost. The bible says in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave is ONE & ONLY Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish by have everlasting life."
